HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Following an incident which resulted in the hull on my F18 being split down one of the bows I took my boat into Paintcraft for repair. They were approved my insurer and close to
home so seemed the logical choice. I was doubtful that any repairer would get the boat looking good again but Nigel assured me it would be perfect. I also decoded, that whilst it was in for the main
repair I would have both hulls refurbished, to remove 2 years of campaign scars and damage caused by my previous crew scraping trapeze hook down the hull making 2 nice scars, which I had repaired
myself so I could continue to race, but the repairs were not that good. Basically the boat is 4 years old and was looking a bit worse for wear.
The boat has been with Paintcraft for just over 2 weeks and I collected it today (November 2013). To say I was left with the “Wow Factor “would be an understatement. The boat looks amazing, the
colour match on the gelcoat is spot, you can not even see its been repaired, and the refurbished hulls look almost like new….it looks so good I am going be scared t race it (only joking). The work on
the boat has been completed in great time, meaning I can get back on the water and race, and the results have genuinely exceeded my expectations. I would also say, that Paintcraft have been a great
company to do business with. Would I use them again, absolutely, definitely. As stated above HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I only hope Nigel puts up some before and after pictures.....
Nigel has just delivered my nearly 30 year old all wood Fireball No 14017 "The Border Reiver", back to my home address, following a complete refurbishment process over some 11 weeks. I have to say
that she is absolutely gorgeous and looks just like a brand new boat, only a whole lot better as she has been subject to that very special extra ingredient, namely the PAINTCRAFT TOUCH. Nigel and his
team really did work hard on getting the Fireball back to bare wood along with all the preparation which that process involves. All the fittings have been put back in their original location and all
work well and in some instances have been improved by Nigel's ideas. Nigel has been very helpful from start to finish and kept me informed of progress along the way. He is a really nice chap and a
pleasure to deal with.
The finish that Paintcraft have managed to achieve, I have to say is truly phenomenal. Both the epoxy varnished decks and the hull itself and the foils; are so shiny that they look like plate glass.
The finish has to be seen to be believed and this is all down to the the time that Paintcraft spend in paint and varnish preparation. This is the difference between an ordinary job that you will get
from others; and an EXTRA - ORDINARY JOB FROM NIGEL'S PAINTCRAFT. We cannot recommend them more highly. The lovely lines of my Classic Fireball have been brought to the fore by the sterling attention
to detail offered by Paintcraft with this refurbishment and she almost looks now far too good to sail on the water; which of course now we cannot wait to do ! Well done Nigel and please convey my
sincere thanks to your very professional team who have been involved in working on "The Border Reiver". You have totally transformed my old boat into a thing of beauty. Thank you
